Hi, Is there a new network adapter for windows 10 that is Qualcomm Atheros? I have the version AR9485 and I think the version was 10.0.0.132. The reason I am saying this is because my Wifi does not work (only on my Asus computer.). Qualcomm Wireless driver update. ASUS X555LA-XO636H. Windows 10 64bit(was 8.1) Qualcomm Atheros AR9485 WiFi adaptor. Wireless is dropping out every few minutes. Have to restart to get wireless to reconnect. As these are Asus drivers they might be better than the Atheros as they may have been altered to suit Asus equipment.
Hello. I hope someone can make a recommendation.
Since upgrading from 8.1 to 10, my wi-fi barely ever works even remotely well. This laptop and wireless card worked fine for almost a year on 8.1. Since the upgrade I'm lucky to ever have more than a couple hundred KB's at a time, sometimes it just goes dead for a minute.
I've tried everything. Troubleshooting, doesn't fix it.
different routers, wi-fi connections. nada
installed old drivers, nada.
open DNS or google DNS. same problems
fiddled with wireless attributes, nada.
reset wireless adapter.... sometimes helps for a minute.
disable power management. nada.
flush dns. nada. reset ip. nada.
you name it, i've probably tried it (unless I don't know what it is)

Please save me from throwing this laptop out the window.

Hi James,
Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.
From your description I understand the issue might due to the incompatible drivers. Try to download the latest compatible drivers on your PC and use any external Storage device to transfer and install them on your Laptop.
If no updated drivers available on the Manufacturer’s website for windows 10, then trying installing drivers in compatibility mode. Compatibility mode runs the program using settings from a previous version of Windows.
Follow these steps to install the drivers in compatibility mode and check if that helps.
a. Download the driver from the manufacturer’s website.
b. Right-click on the driver setup file and click on ‘properties’.
c. Click on the ‘compatibility’ tab and check the box ‘Run this program in compatibility mode for’ and select Windows 8/8.1 operating system from the drop down menu and proceed with the installation. Once this is done, restart the computer and check if the issue persists.
